Meet the Team
William is a Chartered Legal Executive with over 30 years experience in property law. William can deal with all property related matters including all residential and commercial property matters, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, Deeds of Easement, Variations of Rights of Way and Sub-leases and assignment of leases. Bill is based at our Staplehurst offices.
Lisa is the firm's Practice Manager and is a Member of the Institute of Licensed Paralegals and the Institute of Legal Finance & Management. She has worked for the firm since early 2005 and Lisa's role involves Human Resources, assisting the Partners with the general running of the firm, heading up the Costs Recovery Department and supporting the accounts department.
Liz joined the firm in December 2001 as an Assistant Solicitor, became Partner in May 2002 and in November 2007 became Senior Partner. Liz has overall responsibility for the firm and each of the firm’s departments, having extensive experience in several areas of law. Liz currently heads up the Private Client department. She was previously head of the Family department but this role has now passed to Catherine Dumbleton-Moore although Liz continues to work alongside Catherine in the department.
Catherine joined the firm in 2003 and commenced her studies with the Institute of Legal Executives in late 2004. She qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in August 2010 and became a Partner in December 2010. Catherine deals with all areas of family law and is a member of Resolution, promoting a sensitive, constructive and cost-effective approach to family law. As Partner, Catherine also assists Liz Dumbleton with the general running of the firm. Catherine spends time in both the Staplehurst and St Leonards offices.
We are pleased to announce that Laura Hails will be joining us on Monday 3 April 2017. Laura qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2010 and her family law specialisms include divorce, the financial aspects of relationship breakdown and issues relating to the arrangements for children. Laura is a qualified, experienced and active collaborative lawyer and, where possible, strongly supports the resolution of issues through negotiation, rather than through the Courts but is also very experienced at advocacy in Court should the need arise. Laura is a Member of Resolution and strongly supports the Association's aim to resolve issues in as fair and amicable way as possible.
Sue joined the firm in August 2014 as a conveyancer. Sue has over 35 years experience dealing with residential conveyancing. Sue started her career working for a small local firm for 10 years. On leaving there she commuted to a larger firm in London for 10 years. When she tired of the commute she returned to Kent where she has worked ever since. Sue is passionate about providing clients with an efficient service. Sue greatly enjoys dealing with conveyancing, which is particularly due to her love of being organised and dealing with clients.
Ian is a very experienced employment lawyer advising employers and employees on all aspects of employment law, drafting contracts, disciplinary procedures and representing either the employer or the employee at Employment Tribunals. Ian has previously worked for one of the top three UK Law firms training other employment lawyers.
Amanda is a Litigation Executive working in our Litigation & Personal Injury Department. Amanda is an excellent litigator having had 11 years experience in the industry. Amanda deals with all types of dispute resolution and litigation matters, including personal injury and clinical negligence claims. Amanda also has a passion for Disability Rights and Welfare Benefits, she is a strong advocate in making sure people are claiming what they are rightfully entitled to. Amanda is able to see clients in either our Kent or East Sussex offices.
Jessica is an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and is experienced in Will Writing and the drafting of Lasting Powers of Attorney. Since joining EMD Law Jessica has also gained experience in dealing with the Affairs of the Elderly, including Deputyships and managing affairs. Jessica has also dealt with Severances, transfers of equity and first registrations in the past and continues to deal with Severances alongside the Will and LPA drafting. Jessica is based at the St Leonards office but travels to the Staplehurst office to meet with her Kent clients whenever required.
Robert joined the firm in April 2003 as an Assistant Solicitor and became a Partner in 2008. He is an extremely experienced property lawyer based at the St Leonards office. Robert can deal with all property related matters including the buying and selling of residential and commercial property, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, Deeds of Easement, Variations of Rights of Way and Sub-leases and assignment of leases. Robert is based at our St Leonards offices but travels to the Staplehurst office to meet with his Kent clients.
